Abstract

Translating English comedy movies into Uzbek presents significant challenges due to cultural nuances, idiomatic expressions, distinct humor styles, and linguistic differences. This article examines these translation problems, focusing on the difficulty of adapting cultural references, humor based on wordplay and puns, and the challenges of maintaining comedic timing and rhythm. By exploring these issues, the article highlights the importance of creative and culturally sensitive translation practices to ensure that the humor in English comedy movies is effectively conveyed to Uzbek audiences. Addressing these challenges is essential for bridging cultural gaps and enhancing the comedic experience for viewers in both languages.
