Turbulent harakatda suyuqlikning har bir zarrasi juda murakkab egri chiziqli trayektoriya bo‘yicha harakat qiladi. Suyuqliklarni optimallashtirish yo’llaridan biri oqim tezligi va sarfini nazorat qilish. Tabiatda va sanoat loyihalaridagi ko‘pgina oqim turlari turbulent oqimlar hisoblanadi. Laminar oqimdan farqli o‘laroq, turbulent oqimning ma’lum bir nuqtasidagi o‘zgaruvchi natijalarni ko‘rsatadi.
