Abstract

A rather universal and widespread phenomenon of manipulation is considered as a peculiar way of social regulation, management, control and determination of a person's life. A variety of "manipulative technologies" and techniques are described: information distortion, information concealment, implicit presentation of information, deliberate choice of the method and time of information presentation, etc. Particular attention is paid to a variety of linguistic means and the prerequisites for their use as manipulative.
